Protected Area Management Support Solution

With concerns being expressed that private and communally-owned protected areas may not be as effectively managed as they should be, this work aimed to provide support to landowners, and to co-develop a management support solution in KwaZulu-Natal. This project provided the framework necessary to empower, educate and train these communities and individuals in order for them to derive benefits from these areas, and to provide a structure to support and guide the legal reporting and monitoring requirements necessary to maintain protected area status in perpetuity.
